With 50+ Years of Combined Experience, Two Jackson Hole Guides Relaunch Wildlife Tours
Jackson, United States - May 21, 2026 / Teton Expeditions /
JACKSON HOLE, WY - Teton Expeditions is relaunching in Jackson Hole with a straightforward premise at the heart of its new direction: families should not simply pass through Grand Teton and Yellowstone. They should experience both parks together, with the context to understand what they are seeing.
Re-founded by Jeff Tibbitts and Evan Toal, Teton Expeditions brings more than 50 combined years of guiding, outfitting, and wildlife interpretation across the Greater Yellowstone ecosystem. The company is new in its present form, but its origins trace back to the 1970s, when David Tibbitts helped define an approach to guiding built on knowledge, humility, patience, and genuine respect for the land.
David Tibbitts was Jeff's father. He was also among the first to show both Jeff and Evan what the work of guiding could look like when done with care. Not as a transaction or a checklist, but as a sincere effort to help people understand and connect with a place.
"We know what it looks like when this is done right," said co-founder Evan Toal. "We built this company around that vision."
Teton Expeditions offers half-day and full-day guided wildlife tours of Grand Teton National Park and Yellowstone National Park, with pickup and drop-off available throughout the Jackson Hole area. Tours are designed for small groups, families, multi-generational travelers, and guests seeking a more personal way to experience the parks.
The company's guiding message, "See It Together," reflects the kind of shared experience Teton Expeditions is structured to provide. A child encountering a moose for the first time. Grandparents watching bison move across an open valley. Parents slowing down long enough to genuinely understand what surrounds them. The aim is not only to show guests wildlife, but to help create a shared memory that the whole family carries forward.
"The parks are for everyone," said co-founder Jeff Tibbitts. "But not everyone experiences them the same way. We want families, older travelers, and first-time visitors to feel comfortable, curious, and included from the moment they step into the vehicle."
That guest-centered approach informs every element of how tours are run. Pacing is intentional. Questions are welcomed. Guides are chosen not only for their depth of knowledge, but for their character, patience, and ability to connect with guests across different ages and backgrounds. Many come from fields including natural history, science education, outdoor leadership, and wildlife interpretation.
For families, that means the natural world is made accessible at every age. For older travelers, it means unhurried itineraries, no crowded vehicles, and no sense that a slower pace or an honest question is an inconvenience. Each tour is built around connection - to the landscape, to the wildlife, to the guide, and to the people sharing the experience.
The Greater Yellowstone ecosystem stands as one of the most significant wild landscapes in North America. Grizzly bears, wolves, bison, elk, moose, pronghorn, eagles, and a wide range of other species inhabit a place shaped by geology, conservation, migration, and generations of careful stewardship. Teton Expeditions works to help guests understand that broader story.
"Every family that spends a day in the parks with one of our guides is a potential steward," Tibbitts said. "Every kid who sees a moose cross a river for the first time is a future advocate. That is what this is really about."
Teton Expeditions is currently accepting reservations for the 2026 season. Half-day and full-day wildlife tours are available for Grand Teton National Park and Yellowstone National Park. Private tours and group rates are offered for families, multi-generational travel parties, and special occasions.

New focus. Right people. Fifty years in the making.
